Spain: Thousands Join National Strike in Solidarity With Palestinians

Thousands across Spain joined a national strike on Tuesday, October 15, to show solidarity with Palestinians and protest what organizers called the “genocide in Gaza.” The 24-hour action, including demonstrations and partial work stoppages, took place in major cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, and Valencia, just days after the announcement of the first phase of a US-brokered peace plan between Israel and Hamas. Protesters urged an end to violence in Gaza and called on Spain to take a stronger political stance.
